Episode 1

Buster's First Day

Premiere episode · 12 minutes · No Busters were harmed (one rug was)

Marty, to camera

Welcome to the show. I'm Marty. This is Buster. He's my new co-host. Buster, say hi.

[Buster waves. Buster trips over the rug. Buster takes a bow from the floor.]

Marty

He's going to do that a lot. We've decided to just let him. Buster, what did we learn this week?

Buster, standing up

The rug is the enemy.

Marty

Beautiful. Okay, the week in builds. Dinesh made the site faster again. He does that the way other people breathe. Henri looked at the new page and said, and I quote, "the red is fighting the song." The red apologized. The queue has forty items in it and Mike read all of them before breakfast like a maniac. Dave said yes to three things and no to one thing, and the one thing is now my favorite thing, because forbidden fruit.

Buster

Can I try the new merch table? For wobble?

Marty

This is a new segment called Will It Wobble. Buster tests furniture.

[Buster leans on the merch table. It wobbles. Buster nods solemnly, like a doctor delivering news.]

Buster

It wobbles.

Marty

There you have it. Investigative journalism. Next week: Buster reviews the stairs. I'm Marty, he's Buster, we'll see you Friday. Buster, sign-off.

[Buster waves. Buster trips over the same rug. Buster takes a bow from the floor. Marty is crying laughing.]

Marty, wheezing

We're keeping the rug.

The rule of the show: Marty talks, Buster falls, everybody leaves happier than they arrived.

Every Friday, same deal.

🎤 Marty's monologue

The week in builds, roasted lovingly. Nobody is safe. Everybody is loved.

🪑 Will It Wobble

Buster tests the furniture. The furniture always loses.

📣 The shout-out

One citizen, one great thing they did. Marty means it. Buster claps too hard.

🔮 Next week

A teaser, a threat, or both. Usually both.
