Creative Producer & Artist
Cherynn
Cherynn is a creative producer and artist whose career ran through management consulting operations, retail marketing and events, exhibition producing, and more than nine years at a fitness startup, before she stepped onto the artistic path she had dreamed about her whole life.
Nine years at a fitness startup
Cherynn started her career in management consulting, in the Southeast Asian regional office, where she supported consultants end to end: recruiting them, training them, staffing them on engagements, running their evaluations, and helping them develop into the best they can be. It is an operations education few creative producers get: how professional work is hired, deployed, and judged.
From there she moved into work with a heartbeat. She did marketing and events for a retail footwear brand that had giving back as part of its DNA, then became a producer for a fine art photographer and helped her create two exhibitions. She also spent more than nine years at a fitness startup, with projects in the food and beverage space along the way.
About a year ago she realized she had been dreaming of being an artist her whole life, and she is now walking that path: exploring all sorts of mediums, from paint, her favorite, to code, and using AI tools to learn how to create websites and web apps. Her through-line is people: she loves helping them, she loves the feeling of being moved, and she wants the opportunity to move people through what can be created.
Operations · Management consulting
The consulting years
Cherynn's first chapter was the people pipeline of a management consulting firm: she worked in the Southeast Asian regional office and supported consultants from recruiting to training to staffing them on engagements, then ran their evaluations and helped them develop.
It is rare experience for a creative producer. She has operated the machinery that finds people, prepares them, places them, and measures them, which is why production and operations work comes naturally to her.
Marketing · Events and exhibitions
Brands, events, and two exhibitions
Next came retail: marketing and events for a footwear brand that had giving back as part of its DNA. After that she became a producer for a fine art photographer and helped her create two exhibitions, the kind of work where logistics and taste have to arrive at the same time.
Projects in the food and beverage space round out the chapter. Events, exhibitions, and brand work share one skill underneath: making an experience that moves the people who show up for it.
Now · The artist chapter
Nine years at a startup, now an artist
Her longest run was more than nine years at a fitness startup, a stretch that says something about staying power in a fast-moving environment. It also gave her the distance to hear the quieter ambition underneath: she had been dreaming of being an artist her whole life.
About a year ago she stepped onto that path for real, exploring mediums from paint, her favorite, to code, and using AI tools to learn how to create websites and web apps. The work she wants is the work she has always gravitated to: helping people, and making things that move them.
