Every child in a children's hospital, anywhere in the world, gets a song written just for them.
The dream
A kid in a hospital bed gets a song with their name in the lyrics and their favorite things in the verses, performed by a character they love, like Sally, as a video they can watch from their room. Not a playlist. Their song. Made for them.
Is it possible? Yes, people already do versions of this
- Songs of Love Foundation: since 1996, professional songwriters have made 46,000+ personalized songs for kids ages 1 to 21 facing serious illness, across 500+ hospitals. A parent submits a profile (the kid's name, interests, pets, favorite genre) and a songwriter writes and records the song in about three weeks. This is the exact model, proven at scale.
- Musicians On Call: volunteer musicians play bedside, one song per room, plus virtual concerts broadcast into patient rooms. They already run at Children's Hospital Colorado, twenty minutes from the Studio.
- The Ryan Seacrest Foundation's Seacrest Studios: broadcast studios built inside children's hospitals, made for exactly this kind of programming.
How the Studio would do it
- Partner first, build second. One hospital (Children's Hospital Colorado, in our backyard), one org that already has the relationships and the trust (Songs of Love or Musicians On Call). We bring the songs and the characters; they bring the hospital doors.
- Our twist: character songs. Sally writes and performs a song for each kid, by name. A video of Sally singing it, the kid's name in the lyrics and on the screen. Nobody else has characters kids love. That's our unfair advantage.
- Speed. Our pipeline can turn a kid's profile into a finished song and video in days, not three weeks. Sketch it fast, produce it real, cut the Sally video.
- Delivery. A private video link to the family, plus the hospital room screen. The kid watches Sally sing their song from bed.
- Scale like the $20 challenge. Start with five kids. Small, real, provable. Document every single one. Then open intake to any children's hospital in the world, and publish the whole playbook open-source so other studios copy it.
Why it fits
