His story
Mister Fox runs the Lost & Found in The City, out of a little den tucked between the bakery and the bookshop. If you lose something in E2, a scarf, a sketchbook, your favorite lucky marble, you go see Mister Fox. He will find it. He always finds it.
Foxes are famous for being clever, and Mister Fox is the cleverest of them all. But here is the thing about E2: nobody uses their cleverness on people. Only for them. So Mister Fox turned the oldest fox trick in the book, finding things that are hidden, into the kindest job on the planet.
With every return he leaves a tiny origami fox, folded from golden paper. People keep them. Some folks in The City have dozens.
Sally & the plush
Sally has had a small fox plush since she was seven years old. It sits on the shelf in her bedroom, watching over her sketchbook. It is a toy of the real Mister Fox. She has never met him in person. She says she wants the first thing he ever finds for her to be something she lost on purpose, just to watch him work.
By the numbers
11,204 things found and returned. Zero kept. That is the whole record, and he is proud of every line of it.
