Get paid $20 to learn an instrument.
We will pay you twenty dollars to pick up an instrument, learn it in public for 60 days, and show your work. Or write your first song and put it up on the internet.
Two tracks, same twenty dollars. That is the whole deal. No catch, no fine print games. Just you, making something real, where everyone can see it.
Here is the deal.
$20 each for five people, across both tracks. Pick the track that fits you, finish it, and the $20 is yours. It is super easy.
Five spots. First come, first served, across both tracks.
Two tracks. Learn an instrument for 60 days, or write your first song.
Show your work. Weekly posts for the instrument track, progress shares for the song track.
Finish and get paid. Do the thing, collect your $20.
Two ways to earn it.
Pick one track and stick with it. Either one earns the $20 at the finish.
Track 1
Learn an instrument.
Pick any instrument and learn it for 60 days. Post once a week showing your progress, about 8 posts total. Piano, guitar, drums, ukulele, whatever calls to you. Finish the 60 days and the $20 is yours.
Track 2
Write your first song.
Get your first song written, worked on, and up on the internet where anyone can hear it. Share your progress as you go. Finish with a link anyone can click and the $20 is yours.
Five people total across both tracks, unless we say otherwise.
Why we are doing this.
Dave Dlaney learned piano in 99 days, in public, from zero. He posted the ugly early days and the breakthroughs, all of it. Now we want five more people to do the same kind of thing.
The Studio is an open source, super helpful non-profit that helps musicians. Everything out in the open. Dlaney is one of our artists (20,370 views and 1,053 plays and counting), Sally is another, and we are open to more artists and more challengers. This is how we grow: real people, making real progress, where everyone can see it.
